MATTERS ARISING IN Project IZHAR 2010
The socio-economic milieu in Jos the Plateau state capital and indeed the entire state has elicited a rethink on some of the milestones in IZHAR 2010. The reason being that, attention has now shifted to more pressing and immediate needs of ameliorating the suffering of victims and securing what is left after the devastating after-shocks of various ethno-religious upheavals on the Plateau. Due to this unfavourable outcomes, the first quarter of 2010 would be lost as well as the following affected:
· The details of IZHAR 2010 which were expected to be debated at the 2010 Inaugural Congress of IKPAAT IGOON IZERE (IZERE HERITAGE FOUNDATION) shall now take place hopefully in April 2010.
· Equally, the planned mobilisation and fundraising events are affected.
· Also the inauguration of more interim officials, editorial board for the IKPAAT IGOON IZERE (IZERE HERITAGE FOUNDATION) Newsletter, as well as the IKPAAT IGOON IZERE (IZERE HERITAGE FOUNDATION) Board of Advisors would now take place in April;
· The National Plan of Action of the Interim Executive Secretary inclusive of the Quarter I training of the interim officials in the "Workings of Civil Society Organisations" would now take place in May 2010 but perhaps earlier circumstances warranting. This might also restrict the trainings to three instead of four as proposed;
· The IKPAAT IGOON IZERE(IZERE HERITAGE FOUNDATION) budget for 2010 shall be debated and passed in April 2010;
· Inauguration of the Izere Radio Project Committee would now take place in May 2010
· Interim Officials are still required. Though gentlemen might apply (and be appointed), ladies are in dearth among the interim officials. Positions available include:
· Deputy Executive Secretary
· Interim Financial Secretary
· Auditors
· Public Affairs Secretary
· District Coordinators
· Ward Anchors
· Sector Rapporteurs (there are three sectors A, B and C)
